The spokesman for the regime’s Health Ministry said Today’s state-controlled statistics for the death toll in the past 24 hours is 209, and the number of patients at the “Intensive Care Units” is 3,556, the highest since the beginning of the Coronavirus outbreak. She told IRNA, Today, that the provinces of East Azerbaijan, Ilam, Bushehr, Khorasan Razavi, Khuzestan, Zanjan, Golestan, Mazandaran, Kerman, and Fars are red.

While Rouhani said yesterday that 25 million people have been infected so far and that 30 to 35 million people are at risk of contracting the virus, Mostafa Ghanei, head of the scientific committee of the NCCT, said: “There is a herd immunity hypothesis all over the world, but this has no efficiency, because the people of a community cannot be left alone to be infected. This method cannot be a strategy… In the past two weeks, the number of young and ill people has increased more than before, which has raised concerns.” Meanwhile, Babak Eshrati, vice president of Iran’s University of Medical Sciences, told Mehr news agency, Today, “Our goal in the field of health is to buy time to find a treatment and solution. In this way, hospitals can better serve the most critically ill patients.”

In Tehran, Nahid Khodakarami, a member of the city council, told Tasnim news agency, Today, “Our research shows that the mortality rate of the disease in hospitalization cases was 14.9% … We did not manage to control the virus in any area in Tehran. In the country, we have not yet been able to manage this disease, as in other countries of the world. “We had nine deaths in Tehran in mid-May, but yesterday 101 deaths were registered in Tehran, and this indicates an increasing level of infection.”

Deputy Director of Tehran Province’s Pharmaceutical Association told IRNA Today, “Since the start of Coronavirus, they have not even given a single mask at the approved price through government channels to the pharmacies so that we can provide it to the public. The Government approved the price for the mask was 800 tomans. The Ministry of Industry, Mines, and Trade is claiming that it is producing 10 million masks. But the reality is that they did not even give a single mask at the approved price through government channels to the pharmacies.”

In Alborz, the president of the Medical Sciences told IRNA Today, “As regards outpatients and hospitalizations, we are facing a heavy rush to hospitals. Last night, 815 patients suspected of being infected with Coronavirus came to medical centers. This is a very high number. But we have 615 patients hospitalized. We will have a terrible situation. The medical personnel are fatigued, and since March, they have been constantly occupied. The hospitalized wards have not yet been emptied from coronavirus patients.”

In North Khorasan Province, the acting president of the Medical Sciences University was quoted by Mehr news agency yesterday as saying, “Some those infected with the virus die as soon as they reach the emergency. On average, three to six people have lost their lives daily.”
