The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Wednesday, October 6, 2021, that the COVID-19 death toll in 547 cities had exceeded 449,700. The number of victims in Tehran has reached 105,376, Khorasan Razavi 37,015, Isfahan 30,310, Khuzestan 27,565, West Azerbaijan 16,193, Fars 16,190, East Azerbaijan 15,833, Lorestan 15,010, Alborz 13,208, Golestan 10,065, Kermanshah 8,119, Yazd 7,423, North Khorasan 5,759, Qazvin 5,029, Ilam 4,273, South Khorasan 3,896, and Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 3,415.

While according to the state-run daily, Hamshahri, Ebrahim Raisi has blatantly claimed, today, “We have been able to reach 70% in vaccinating people,” Alireza Marandi, Khamenei’s physician and head of the Medical Sciences Academy, said, “It is illogical, and we should not be celebrating for injecting only the first dose to 70% of the population. The first dose has minimal effect and will not have a protective result against COVID-19 at all. At least two doses should be injected. Even then, it does not provide complete safety and security. Therefore, any reported percentage of vaccinated patients should include a second dose, not just the initial dose. Now in the media, the sum of the first and second doses are calculated and announced.”
