Iran: Coronavirus Death Toll in 440 Cities Exceeds 105,800

• Hassan Rouhani again blamed the people for the Coronavirus outbreak. He said that the people’s observance (of the protocols) had decreased from 82% to 62%. “If they do not observe (the protocols), we will have an increase in infection, hospitalization, and mortality.”

• Masoud Mardani, member of the Scientific Committee of the National Coronavirus Combat Taskforce (NCCT): All provinces are red. 10 to 12% of patients admitted to hospitals, 50% of patients who enter the ICU, and 90% of patients connected to a ventilator die. (ISNA, September 19, 2020)

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Saturday, September 19, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 440 cities exceeds 105,800. The number of victims in Tehran is 25,425, Khorasan Razavi 7,777, Khuzestan 6,866, Mazandaran 5,147, Isfahan 4,954, Qom 4,760, Lorestan 4,698, Gilan 4,346, Golestan 2,996, Fars 2,931, Kermanshah 2,432, North Khorasan 1,874, Hormozgan 1,455, Central Province 1,383, Qazvin 946, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 788, and South Khorasan 662.

Masoud Mardani, a member of the Scientific Committee of the NCCT, told ISNA today, “The Health Ministry has announced that all the provinces are in a red situation, and the situation is not good. 10 to 12% of hospitalized patients die. Fifty percent of patients who enter the ICU, and 90 percent of those who use the ventilator die. With the increase in the number of infections, we will undoubtedly face an increase in mortality.”
