NCRI-50Mehdi Esmaili, member of the Education and Research Committee of the regime’s Parliament: The government officials’ contradictory (statements) have placed people under pressure. Until yesterday, they said that in red regions, reopening of schools will be online, and in yellow regions part-time, but suddenly, they announced that the schools reopening will have to be in person.

  • Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad: This Province has the most critical condition among all provinces. The ICUs are filling up, and there will be no room for patients. It is not in the best interest of the Province to reopen schools. The number of patients in Boyer-Ahmad, and in Kohgiluyeh has increased one and a half and three times, respectively, compared to last week. Mortality will also increase in the coming weeks in the Province. (Mehr news agency, September 2)
  • Ahvaz University of Medical Sciences: Given the school reopening season, we have explicitly stated our opposition to the reopening of schools in person since early-September. (Mehr, September 3)
  • A state-run media outlet: Comparing the ratio of nurses to hospital beds in Iran versus other countries shows a great disaster. The situation in Iran is even worse than war-torn Syria. (Khabarfori news site, today)

The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on Thursday, September 3, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 410 cities in Iran had passed 98,600. The number of victims in Khorasan Razavi is 7,029, Khuzestan 6,572, Mazandaran 4,776, Lorestan 4,330, Gilan 4,082, Sistan and Baluchestan 3,069, Fars 2,764, Kermanshah 2,336, Kerman 1,573, Central Province 1,283, Ardabil 1,202, Semnan 1,272, Zanjan 944, and South Khorasan 567.

Continuing his brazen lies, Rouhani today claimed, “In the first wave, we passed through the outbreak, better than other countries! In the second wave, in which I think we are taking the final steps, God willing, we hope our provinces will pass through successfully. Now many provinces that were caught up in the second wave, including Azerbaijan, Ardabil, Kurdistan, Khuzestan, and other provinces, thank God, were able to pass the second wave, and with people observing the protocols, we hope that we will not witness the third outbreak.” Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the regime’s Health Ministry listed all four mentioned provinces as red or on alert.
