The People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced on Saturday, August 15, 2020, that the Coronavirus death toll in 383 cities across Iran had exceeded 89,000. The number of victims in Khorasan Razavi is 6,443, Khuzestan 6,135, Qom 4,420, Mazandaran 4,225, Isfahan 3,921, Gilan 3,712, Lorestan 3,662, Sistan and Baluchestan 2,831, Alborz 2,640, West Azerbaijan 2,560, Fars 2,513, Golestan 2,504, Kurdistan 1,779, North Khorasan 1,377, Kerman 1,358, Hormozgan 1,159, Bushehr 1,065, Yazd 1,025, Zanjan 831, Chaharmahal and Bakhtiari 587, and Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad 495.

While regime officials in various provinces speak of a worsening situation and the Health Ministry’s spokesperson has declared 26 provinces red or in an alarming situation, Rouhani, again brazenly claimed, today, “The Coronavirus has begun to decline in many provinces.” He again blamed the people, saying that in the first wave, “some (people) thought that this disease, even though serious, can be treated quickly and would take little time but this may stay not for a month or two, but for months to come, and even for years.” Rouhani forgot that he had announced in late February that everything would be fine by Saturday, March 31, 2020.
