• It is Iranian regime’s specific desire to target and disintegrate al-Iraqiya and the national and Iraqi solution on the brink of Bashar Assad’s downfall and upcoming provincial council elections in Iraq;
• Security Council should intervene immediately to maintain peace and security in Iraq and ensure safety and security of Finance Minister and al-Iraqiya leaders.
Subsequent to issuing death warrant for Vice- President Dr. Tariq al-Hashemi, the Government of Iraq is now after eradicating Finance Minister Dr. Rafie al-Issawi, his office staff, his family members and his bodyguards. Protesting against this “illegal impudence and insolence”, al-Issawi rightly pointed out that no one with minimum respect for law would resort to such measures whatsoever.
Iraqi nationalist leaders such as Dr. Ayad Allawi, he Head of Al-Iraqia (the winner of Iraq’s elections); Dr. Tariq al-Hashemi, Vice-President; Dr. Saleh Mutlak, deputy Prime Minister; Osama al-Nujaifi, Parliament Speaker; Dr. Ahmad al-Alwani; Jamal Karbouli; Islamic Party; Kurdish parties; religious authorities and figures; tribal sheikhs and the masses of people have risen to protest in al-Anbar, Baghdad, Kirkuk, Diyala, Salah-addin, and Ninawa provinces to support al-Issawi’s demand for a no-confidence motion against Maliki and for his resignation.
Considering the Iraqi President’s illness, targeting the Kurdistan Regional Government President and nationalist leaders, especially disintegrating the Iraqiya Coalition and the Iraqi solution, are all part of the Iranian regime’s campaign of occupying and colonizing Iraq on the brink of Bashar Assad’s downfall and the upcoming provincial council elections in this country.
The religious fascism ruling Iran has placed its grasps on Iraq, and by taking advantage of US’ inaction, is pursuing full-speed ahead its policy of colonization and full occupanion of Iraq. This country has now become the mullahs’ air channel and ground corridor to maintain Syria’s bloodthirsty dictator in power. Collective executions in Iraq, following the pattern of the Iranian regime, are among the requisites of this campaign.
Prior to this, Khamenei had praised and encouraged Maliki for the departure of US forces from Iraq, crackdown and expulsion of PMOI members, repression against Iraqi nationalist leaders, especially Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi, and for his support of the Syrian dictator.
The United Nations Security Council must intervene immediately to maintain peace and security in Iraq and guarantee the security and safety of the Finance Minister and Iraqiya Coalition leaders.
