Iranian Resistance condemns mullahs’ Foreign Minister’s trip to Italy

NCRI – The following is a statement issued by the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran on June 20, 2006:

Manouchehr Mottaki, the mullahs’ Foreign Minister will “travel to Italy for a meeting with his Italian counterpart on Wednesday.”

Mottaki was directly involved in planning and implementing the abduction of Mr. Abol-Hassan Mojtahedzadeh, an Iranian Resistance activist, in Turkey in 1998 and the attempt on the lives of Messrs. Mohammad Mohaddessin, Chairman of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran and Hossein Abedini, NCRI’s Foreign Affairs Committee member in 1990 in Istanbul.

After his abduction, Mojatahedzadeh was tortured in the Iranian regime’s consulate in Istanbul for several days. He miraculously escaped as he was being taken to Iran in a car with Iranian diplomatic license plates.

In his position as the Foreign Ministry’s legal and international deputy, Mottaki provided service and diplomatic passports as well as other logistical assistance to Intelligence Ministry’s agents and the IRGC Qods (Jerusalem) Force for use in terrorist operations outside Iran.

In his capacity as the Foreign Ministry’s Director of Western European Affairs, Mottaki played a major role in the assassination of Dr. Abdurrahman Qassemlou, leader of the Kurdistan Democratic Party of Iran, and his two collogues’ in 1989 in Vienna, Austria, by facilitating the terrorists safe passage from the sceen.

Earlier, the international media reported that Iran had transferred seven billion dollars worth of its gold reserves to Italian banks.

In a separate development, the regime’s Vice President, Parviz Davoudi summoned Italian ambassador to the Foreign Ministry and warned him that Italy is Iran’s first economic partner in Europe and should not take any action against the regime.

At a time when a  court in Italy is conducting proceedings on the case of the 1993 assassination of Mr. Mohammad-Hossein Naqdi, NCRI’s representative to Italy, by the terrorists sent from Tehran under diplomatic disguise, receiving the mullahs’ Foreign Minister, whose terrorist record is beyond doubt, is a disgrace to the Italian judiciary.

The Iranian Resistance condemns the trip to Italy by Mottaki and demands that the Italian judiciary arrest Mottaki and hand him over to the international Criminal Court to stand trial for his crimes against humanity.
