Iran: Mullahs’ embassy stages gathering in Paris

to firmness against their nuclear intransigenceAn attempt to show opposition to firmness against their nuclear intransigence

The Iranian Resistance revelations have made the international community aware of mullahs’ programs to acquire nuclear weapons and breaches of their international commitments. At the same time, in its most recent report to the United Nations Security Council, the International Atomic Energy Agency today explicitly confirmed the regime’s lack of cooperation and its concealment efforts. Meanwhile, the Iranian regime’s embassy is planning to hold a stage-managed gathering in Paris’ Trocadéro Square to claim that Iranians living abroad were opposed to a policy of firmness concerning the Iranian regime’s nuclear intransigence.

Today, the state-run website Baztab (which belongs to a former Revolutionary Guards Corps Commander and current secretary of the Expediency Council) reported the news of this gathering. "Tomorrow the gathering of the patriotic Iranians near the Eiffel Tower will be held in Trocadéro in Paris.”  The gathering is being held by a pseudo-cultural front association that is affiliated with the Iranian regime and its Intelligence Ministry. Baztab added, “As a show of national solidarity, a number of Iranians in Paris have issued a statement, calling on all Iranians and advocates of Persian culture to gather at the Human Rights Square in Trocadéro.”

According to reports received from sources within the regime, the mullahs’ embassy has staged the April 29 gathering with the help of a number of its intermediaries and unofficial agents.  These agents, under cover of different cultural associations and organizations, act as though they are completely independent of the regime.  They also enjoy the support of a number of French security services.

On the eve of the Security Council meeting and the possibility of the adoption of strong binding resolutions against the regime, the Iranian regime has brought its paid agents and operatives throughout France and elsewhere in Europe to sell them as "patriotic Iranians" and purport that the Iranian people, including political refugees, support the mullahs’ nuclear projects.

According to official figures, over 80 percent of Iranians live below the poverty line, more than 90 percent of them demand change and the overthrow of the religious dictatorship ruling in Iran, and a vast majority oppose the nuclear projects.  As such, these stage-managed shows do not beguile any one.

The Iranian Resistance, underscores the anti-Iranian nature of the mullahs’ nuclear projects and as well as the need for imposing comprehensive sanctions against this regime. It calls on the French government and all relevant agencies to prevent the mullahs’ agents and their terrorist and espionage network from making French territory the roaming ground for their activities.
