Iran : Khamanei’s foreign policy advisor reveals mullahs’ designs to dominate Middle East region

ImageNCRI – Ali Akbar Velayati, Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei’s senior foreign policy advisor and Foreign Minister for 16 years, shed light on the clerical regime ominous designs to dominate the countries in the Middle East region.

In an interview with the state-run news agency ISNA yesterday, he said, "We have never had such powerful means to bargain as we have today. We have never exerted the kind of influence in Iraq and Palestine that we exert today.”

Underscoring that the Iranian regime had been the winner of the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq, he added, "At no time in the history of Afghanistan, you had a situation where six or seven vice presidents were Shiites. Similarly, many of those in power in Iraq are our friends. Thus, the idea that we are less powerful in the region than before is wrong. We have enough power to engage in bargaining.”

Velayati’s comments on the one hand shed light on the mullahs’ ominous designs to export terrorism and fundamentalism and the establishment of a regional Islamic empire, and on the other hand show that the policy of appeasement by Western countries has given the regime ample opportunity to take advantage of regional developments and provided great help to the mullahs to complete their nuclear program.
