Nouri Maliki’s anger and regret over Spanish court writ

Camp Ashraf military occupation – No. 133

Desperate attempts against the court

NCRI – Following the Spanish National Court writ and the opening of judicial cases against Iraqi officials including Maliki, the Iraqi Army Ground Forces Commander and numerous other Iraqi Prime Ministry officials, Maliki, fearing the consequences of this ruling and his political future, has established a committee in the Iraqi Prime Ministry to analyze various methods to confront and neutralize this ruling.

The Spanish court writ describes the July 2009 and April 2011 massacres, the inhumane siege against Ashraf and the psychological torture imposed on the camp residents through 300 loudspeakers as serious violations of the Fourth Geneva Convention, consisting of crimes against humanity and crimes against the International Community.

This ruling summons the Commander of Ground Forces and a number of senior officers acting under Maliki’s orders to appear before court on October 3rd, 2011. On Maliki, the court case will immediately become active once he steps down from the Prime Ministry and his judicial immunity comes to an end.

One of the measures carried out by the mentioned committee is to force the Spanish government to prevent this ruling from becoming active. Maliki intended to raise the plan in the Parliament through his affiliated State of Law coalition to expel Spain’s ambassador to Iraq and recall Iraq’s ambassador from that country. However, his advisors said carrying out such a plan will have no effect on this ruling and the Parliament will most probably disagree.

This committee has also been assigned to fabricate documents and cases against Ashraf residents. Maliki has ordered all resources in the Prime Ministry and its affiliated intelligence organs, including National Security, Ministry of Interior and Army Intelligence to be placed at the disposal of this committee to fabricate the necessary documents.

It has been arranged for this committee to gather false testimonies against Ashraf including lies such as cooperation with al-Qaeda and instigating sectarian violence. The justice system is to be used as much as possible to issue fabricated rulings against Ashraf residents.

Maliki has also assigned his special legal advisor to make clear this ruling’s effects on other countries’ courts and international courts.

The Iranian regime intends to portray that Ashraf residents were behind the July 2009 and April 2011 massacres, and the death and injury of Iraqi personnel. Maliki has stressed these fabricated files must be presented as soon as possible to the Spanish court, intending to initiate a demonizing campaign against the PMOI among European embassies.

Without a doubt these ridiculous failed attempts will lead to nowhere. As the Iranian Resistance has announced time and again, Khamenei and Ahmadinejad and Maliki and other Iranian regime officials along with their affiliates in Iraq must be prosecuted for crimes against humanity.
