IRAQ: Seven Camp Ashraf hostages held near Baghdad airport to be extradited to Iran

NCRI – According to information received, seven Camp Ashraf residents taken hostage during the September 1 massacre at Camp Ashraf by the Iraqi forces are being held near Baghdad airport by the forces affiliated to the Iraqi Prime Minister’s Office. The hostages have been on a hunger strike since their abduction.

The hostages will reportedly be turned over to the Iranian regime in the next few days through Al-Amara border region in southern Iraq.

The video clip of the two vehicles the Iraqi forces used to move the hostages to the other side of berm erected by Iraqi forces at the north flank of CaMP Ashraf after the 2011 attack is available. The movement of vehicles from inside cAMP Ashraf to the other side of the berm is only possible through the route controlled by Iraqi forces.

The hostages are all protected persons under the Fourth Geneva Convention and as the UN High Commissioner for Refugee officially announced, they are asylum seekers and people of concern who are entitled to international protections.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the U.S. President, Secretary of State, the UN Secretary General, and the High Commissioner for Refugees, who bear direct responsibility for the safety and security of the hostages, to intervene immediately to secure the release of their release and not allow the Government of Iraq, a proxy of the Iranian regime, to hand over the opponents of the religious fascism ruling Iran to the clerical regime.
