Iranian Regime attempts to diffuse diplomatic mess through more loans to Nigeria

NCRI – The Iranian regime intends to loan a billion dollars to Nigeria in the midst of the country’s attempts to put the a regime agent on trial for weapons smuggling.

According to state-run news agencies, Nigeria’s ambassador to Tehran has said that the regime is willing to secure a one billion dollar loan to finance the country’s “economic projects.”

The state-run economic news agency, Eco News, reported on Saturday that, “Prior to this, Iran had made a loan offer for 150 million dollars to Nigeria, but in view of the country’s sizeable population, this amount was deemed too low.”

The report comes as a Nigerian court is proceeding with the trial of  Azim  Aghajani member of the regime’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), who had tried to smuggle an arms shipment into the country.

By accepting a seven-fold loan increase to Nigeria, the mullahs appear to be trying to diffuse the diplomatic crisis with the African nation.
