Warning on the life of two Kurdish political prisoners

NCRI – Loqman and Zanyar Moradi, two Kurdish political prisoners sentenced to death by hanging in public on the fabricated charges of “Moharebeh” and “Corrupter of earth”, are at risk of losing their lives. The inhuman clerical regime has already confirmed the death sentence of 22 December 2010, for Zanyar Moradi, 25. Loqman Moradi is also at risk of execution.

Henchmen savagely tortured these two political prisoners from the deprived people of Kurdistan to extract “confessions”. In later days of December, they were transferred from their prison in the city of Marivan to Gohardasht prison in Karaj. After a month, in a move to increase pressures on political prisoners, they were transferred from ward 4 to ward 12 of Gohardasht prison together with 60 other political prisoners. Prisoners in this ward, all political prisoners condemned to death or with heavy prison sentences, are living in extremely harsh conditions, condemned to gradual death.

Barbaric death sentences and incessant executions by the clerical regime indicate the fear of the wrecked Velayat-e faqih (absolute rule of clergy) regime in face of the heroic uprising of February 14. It is a means of further increase in the atmosphere of terror in the society to prevent spread of public protests.

On Thursday, mullah Sadeq Larijani, head of the judiciary, and Jaafar Dowlat-abadi, Attorney General of the clerical regime openly threatened the opposition and the protesters iterating on the necessity of “unwaveringly confronting” them.

The Iranian Resistance calls on the international community and all human rights organizations, especially the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and Special Rapporteurs on arbitrary detentions, on torture, and on extrajudicial, summary or arbitrary executions to condemn the escalating magnitude of human rights violations in Iran. The Iranian Resistance requests dispatch of an investigative delegation to probe torture and harsh prison conditions for political prisoners in this clerical regime.
