NCRI – A number of protestors at Cairo’s Tahrir Square have issued a statement calling on the Iranian people to mount up protests against the religious dictatorship in Iran, according to al-Sharqiya TV on Friday.
The statement says the regime’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, and the leader of Hezbollah, Hassan Nasrallah, have insulted the Egyptian people by talking about an “Islamic revolution” in a bid to sow the seeds of division within the protest movement.
According to al-Arabiya TV, state-run media in Iran are refusing to cover celebrations in Egypt after the resignation of Hosni Mubarak.
Separately, the BBC aired an interview with an Egyptian protestor on Friday, who said the revolution has nothing to do with the aims of the mullahs in Iran, describing it as completely secular. He strongly dismissed the Iranian regime’s attempts to paint the revolution as an “Islamic awakening.”
The protestor expressed hope that the next revolution will happen in Iran.
