Political prisoner denied medicine to force a TV interview

NCRI – The Iranian regime is refusing access to urgent medical treatment for a political prisoner suffering from a life-threatening condition, making any possibility of medical care contingent on the prisoner’s acceptance to give a televised interview.

According to Harana news agency on Wednesday, Iranian regime agents are exerting tremendous pressure on Hossein Ronaqi Maleki, who is suffering from a chronic kidney condition, telling him that he can only go under surgery if he agrees to give an interview where he would say whatever the regime has dictated.

The agents are not allowing treatment or medicine to reach the political prisoner in order to increase pressures on him.

Mr. Ronaqi Maleki was arrested during the 2009 anti-regime uprisings and was placed under brutal torture. He was sentenced to 15 years in prison by the clerical regime last September, Harana said.
