Ali Saremi executed simultaneous with attacks on Ashraf: Arab daily

NCRI – The Arab-language London-based daily, Asharq al-Awsat published a report this week about the plots and stage-managed shows recently executed by the clerical regime in Camp Ashraf, Iraq, and said they happened concurrently with the hanging of political prisoner Ali Saremi last Tuesday.

Some sources in Paris told the daily that, “The Iranian regime’s agents, who have recently been dispatched to Iraq to execute plots against the residents of Ashraf, have been stationed around the camp with the help of Iraqi forces. They are implementing stage-managed shows to portray the false notion that apparently Iraqis want the residents to leave.”

According to the daily, the sources added that the Iranian regime’s officials are putting pressure on political prisoners in Iran for having ties to the residents of Camp Ashraf. They are preventing the treatment of one political prisoner in Tehran, Mohsen Dokmechi, because his daughter is a resident of the camp.
The condition of these patients is reported to be critical and they need immediate medical attention, Asharq al-Awsat said.

“Press reports and eyewitness accounts indicate that members of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) in Camp Ashraf are subjected to very difficult living conditions. They accuse Iraqi security forces of preventing urgent medical access for patients. This has led to some deaths and deterioration of some patients’ medical condition.”

The sources, according to the daily, said a committee tied to the office of Prime Minster Nouri al-Maliki, which monitors Ashraf, is responsible for the medical restrictions and delays in treatment.

These sources said the measures against PMOI members in Camp Ashraf take place in the context of assurances given to the Iranian regime by Maliki for the regime’s support for his second term in office.

Asharq al-Awsat added, “In a statement obtained by Asharq al-Awsat, the Secretariat of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) has called on the UN Secretary General, High Commissioner for Human Rights, the EU and the US to intervene immediately against ‘the clerical regime’s increasing human rights violations in Iran.’”
