Khamenei scoffs Hariri tribunal as “worthless”

NCRI – The Iranian regime’s Supreme Leader has rejected a tribunal looking into the assassination of former Lebanese Prime Minister Rafik Hariri, apparently fearing that there will be revelations about the role of his agents in the criminal assassination.

According to state-run media on Monday, during a meeting with Qatar’s leader, the mullahs’ Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, said “any verdict issued by the court investigating Rafik Hariri’s case would be rejected.”

“We hope that all influential sides involved in Lebanon would act logically and prudently in order to prevent the matter from turning into a problem,” he said.

Khamenei added, “Some seek to launch a new sedition in Lebanon and we are trying to prevent this sedition with the help of regional countries so that actions will be carried out on the basis of the region’s interests.”
