NCRI – A visit to Lebanon by the Iranian regime’s President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad may be cancelled, the former mullahs’ ambassador to Beirut said after widespread opposition to Ahmadinejad’s planned visit by Lebanese people and various political parties.
On Tuesday, state-run news agencies quoted Masoud Adrisi, the former mullahs’ ambassador to Lebanon, as saying, “A decision to cancel the visit depends on the situation in Lebanon over the next few days. The situation changes in Lebanon by the hour; Unexpected things could happen by tomorrow which may lead to the cancellation of the trip.”
Reacting to the widespread hatred and animosity of the Lebanese people towards the clerical regime in Iran, Adrisi added, “At any rate, there is a probability that the trip may be cancelled because the events in Lebanon over the past few days have raised the probability for the occurrence of unexpected developments. If that happens, then the trip would naturally be cancelled.”
Another former mullahs’ ambassador to Beirut said, “If Lebanon becomes unstable in the next few days, it would not seem prudent for the trip to take place.”
