Meeting with Rafsanjani, Khamenei urges vigilance

Raf-KhaNCRI – At a meeting with the members of the Iranian regime’s Assembly of Experts and Ali Akbar Hashemi Rafsanjani, the mullahs’ Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, warned about the threats posed by popular uprisings which took place last year and called on regime officials to be vigilant about the “enemy’s structure-shattering activities” and to boost the morale of regime forces.

According to the state-run TV, Khamenei also referred to international sanctions and said, “Imposing several resolutions and sanctions, creating an atmosphere (of animosity) and allegations against the Islamic Republic, coupled with activities that help the domestic radicals, and using all communications and political, cultural and economic resources are examples of extensive activities by the front that is active against the Islamic system.”

Khamenei also admitted to the widespread hatred of the Iranian people and especially youths toward the regime and said, “The enemy has focused its attention on two fronts, first to distance people from the establishment and second to shatter the religious beliefs of people and particularly the youths.”

Khamenei also highlighted divisions and infighting in the regime and in reaction to remarks by Rafsanjani, the chairman of the Assembly of Experts, who previously warned about the critical circumstances the regime is facing, added, “We must be mindful of not joining the enemy in unison and avoid fulfilling its agenda. We must not echo the enemy’s voice domestically.”

Khamenei also put his weight behind the government of Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, saying, “One must not discredit the government in the eyes of the people for some action that was done in a part of the government or other branches. This is something that the enemy is after.”

He warned the regime’s senior officials that political activists and protestors have not been fully suppressed and may once again rise up against the Iranian regime.
