Ghodes NCRI – Simultaneous with the Iranian regime’s demagogic ceremony on the so-called Qods Day, hundreds of Tehran residents protested in Haft-e Tir metro Station chanting “Down with dictator” and “no to Gaza, no to Lebanon, my life is for Iran.” The protest that took place at around 3:00 pm local time this afternoon was attacked by the regime’s suppressive forces and at least two people were arrested.

Similar protest took place in Haft-e Tir Square before noon with people chanting the same slogans as they came out of the metro station. A number of young protesters were arrested in this area and transferred to an unknown destination by a van.

Also this morning, passengers in metro station of Tehran’s line 3 and another group of youngsters in College Crossroads petrol station launched anti-government protests chanting similar slogans.

In continuation of its suppressive preparations on recent days, the inhuman clerical regime filled all central parts of the city as well as metro stations with gangs of guards, security forces and agents armed with baton. It also disrupted mobile networks and internet system in order to prevent any popular protest from emerging.

On the other hand, despite all the extensive propaganda and efforts to mobilize people for the pro-government demonstration, the number of participants was very down causing a political disgrace for the regime's Supreme Leader. Thus, the state television replaced the film of today's demonstration with that of years ago that turned into a new scandal for the regime.

In the city of Mashad also, this morning, a number of people chanted “Down with dictator” and “no to Gaza, no to Lebanon, my life is for Iran”. In Kian Pars region of the city of Ahwaz, protesting youngsters chanted anti-government slogans in support of political prisoners.

The Iranian Resistance calls on all human rights authorities, particularly the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights and rapporteurs for arbitrary arrests to condemn the deteriorating human rights situation in Iran and to enact urgent measures to immediately release the detainees.
