Maryam Rajavi: Economic and political relations with such a regime must be contingent upon cessation of executions and cruel punishments in Iran
NCRI – The President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, described the cutting off of the hands of five young prisoners in the western city of Hamedan in Iran as a new record in cruelty and brutality for a faltering regime that sees the intensification of suppression and terror as the only way to deal with growing public disenchantment. Mrs. Rajavi added that the leaders of the religious fascism know that the moment they halt their wave of crimes, they will be removed by the arisen people of Iran forever.
Mrs. Rajavi called on the United Nations Secretary General, the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights and other relevant organs to condemn the regime’s barbaric crimes. She added: The international community is confronted with a crucial test today, which involves adopting a firm stance and rejecting a murderous dictatorship which is in fact a disgrace for humanity in the 21st Century. Economic and political relations with such a regime must be made contingent upon the cessation of cruel punishments and improvement of human rights in Iran.
The cutting off of the young prisoners’ hands for the alleged crime of petty theft took place while the ruling mullahs and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) have over the past three decades plundered billions of dollars of the deprived Iranian people’s national wealth. These days, too, while the majority of the Iranian people live under the poverty line, scandals involving infighting within the regime over the plundering of public wealth have seeped into state-run newspapers.
On Thursday, July 22, in a shocking crime, the Iranian regime’s henchmen amputated the hands of 5 young prisoners in Hamedan prison. The city’s chief prosecutor, Akbar Biglari, accused the prisoners of “theft of cattle, cars, cash, electrical equipment, and gold.” Biglari deceivingly referred to such barbaric sentences as a “divine right,” adding that even if the accusers were to forgive the accused, such sentences should still be carried out.
