Bassij commander raises concerns about students' activism, calls for more controlNCRI – The commander of the Iranian regime’s paramilitary Students and Teachers Bassij Force on Monday expressed fear over the students’ role in the nationwide uprising in Iran and called on the Bassij Force operatives at schools to fight against what he described as “soft warfare” against the clerical regime.

According to the state-run Fars news agency, Mohammad Saleh Jokar added, “If the Bassij establishes itself in the body of the Ministry of Education, then the establishment will be preserved.”

He also unveiled the regime’s expenditures in this regard, saying, “This year will be the year of advancement for the Bassij … We have seen a 400 percent increase in allowances for the Students and Teachers Bassij Organization, which can be very effective in advancing our efforts.”

It is worth reminding that in a sign of trepidation over student protests, the regime plans to send 1,000 clerics this fall to schools all over Tehran.
