Families of martyrs and political prisoners continued their gathering outside Evin prison

Families of martyrs and political prisoners continued their gathering outside Evin prison for seven straight nightsNCRI – For seven nights running, the mothers and families of martyrs and political prisoners joined by Tehran residents gathered outside notorious Evin prison on Friday, February 5, chanting Allahu Akbar. The crowd of up to 1,000 has been demanding the release of those detained during uprisings and the political prisoners. The suppressive forces tried to disperse the crowd but the families resisted by forming human chain and chanting louder anti-regime slogans.

The gathering last night started at 19:00 and the crowd was still there at about 22:00. In the past few days, the regime was compelled to release a small number of those detained during the uprising due to ongoing demonstrations.

In the meantime, the regime has sentenced a number of detainees to death charged with “mohareb” (enemy of God) and a number of others are being tried for the same charge in its revolting kangaroo courts.
