People chant: "Muharam is the month of bloodshed – Khamenei will be overthrown," "Dogs of the leader are unleashed, Tehran has turned to Karbala."

Heavy clashes continue in Vali-Asr Square. The State Security Forces fire at people to save their agents. A large number of people have been injured. The agents have resorted to heavy use of tear and pepper gas to break up the crowd.

They are heavily controlling entries and exits of metro stations along streets where protesters are passing through.

People who are filming or taking photographs from protests are being arrested.

In Azadi Street, across the Tehran university's school of veterinary, as the anti-riot guards were severely beating an elderly man, a young woman intervened and rescued the man with the help of public.

Around 13:00 local time, in Pol-e Choubi district of Tehran, a number of plainclothes agents surrounded a group of young boys and girls to arrest them. But the youths clashed with the suppressive forces and succeeded to break the blockade, avoid being arrested and join the protests.
