Iran: Ahmadinejad insists on expanding and continuing with nuclear programNCRI – In response to its condemnation by the IAEA Board of Governors, the Iranian regime announced on November 29 that it would build ten other sites to enrich uranium. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, the mullahs' president, has ordered the regime’s Nuclear Energy Organization to prepare within next two months plans for setting up ten enrichment facilities same as Natanz site. (Fars state-run news agency, December 29)

To justify this confrontation with the international community and its nuclear adventurism, he argued that these facilities would produce 20,000 megawatts of electricity for the country.

It is therefore once again proven that contrary to what the Western countries hope for slowing or stopping mullahs’ nuclear activities, the regime is pressing to expand its nuclear projects. Mullahs also seek to conceal their military objectives under ridiculous pretext that nuclear energy is only aimed to produce electricity. The Iranian Resistance during the past seven years has repeatedly said that the mullahs would not back down even one step in their nuclear project and the international community with its negotiations has only provided the time they needed.

Unable to contain the uprising of the courageous Iranian people, the clerical regime needs the bomb more than ever to remain in power. The Iranian Resistance calls on the Security Council of the United Nations to immediately impose comprehensive oil, arms, technological, diplomatic and trade sanctions on the regime. It reiterates that negotiation with mullahs would be a serious and fatal mistake and would only provide more time for the fundamentalist and terrorist mullahs’ regime to acquire atom bomb.
