Iran regime worried about popularity of Resistance’s TV programs

Sample ImageNCRI – Deputy Director of the clerical regime’s Radio and Television organization, Ali Darabi, noted people’s growing tendency to watch satellite TV networks run by opponents of the regime on Saturday and was compelled to admit to the widespread popularity of the Iranian Resistance in the country. He said, “Simaye Azadi TV, which is affiliated to the activities of the Monafeqin [PMOI] is among the media that has unfortunately infiltrated into most houses of Iranians,” State-run news agency ISNA reported on November 14.

While trying to minimize the extent of people’s hatred towards the ruling mullahs, he said, “40 percent of people watch satellite TV programs” and added “the number of those who watch satellite networks have doubled,” and described “the growing trend” in the society “extremely worrying.” Darabi said, “The enemy’s main investment has been on the media war [against the regime] and it is through satellite networks.”

The regime acknowledges the growing tendency of people to watch satellite TV networks operated by its opponents while, according to the mullahs’ rules, “Watching satellite networks in Iran is prohibited unless it is for special people or the elites.”

In order to prevent people from watching satellite TV networks of the regime’s opponents, the suppressive forces have been raiding houses, confiscating satellite dishes and receivers and fining the house owners over the years. In addition, it has also been trying to jam satellite broadcasts by illegal means which have destructive and fatal effects on people’s health.
