Iranian Aluminum Company workers protest

NCRI – Some 400 workers at the Iranian Aluminum Company (IrAlCo) located in central city of Arak, stopped working on Monday in protest for not receiving their salaries for the past three months and other bonuses such as work clothes.

The workers protests are escalating across Iran. In recent months the workers have staged protests in many factories including (in southern city of Ahwaz) Ahwaz Pipe Mills, (in central city of Esfahan) Mahyaman Factory, (in Tehran) Govah Company of heavy machinery, (in southern city of Khoramshahr) local public bus company, (in central city of Shiraz) Iran Telecommunication Industries, (in Arak) Wagon Pars Co. and (in Sothern city of Shoush) Haft Tapeh Sugar Cane Factory. The workers at these companies who had not received their salaries for 3 to 10 months are having many difficulties in providing the basic needs of their families.

The Iranian Resistance calls on international trade unions to condemn the Iranian regime’s anti-labor policies and support the just demands of Iranian workers.
