Iranians abroad protest in 31 cities in support of Camp Ashraf and people’s uprising

Berlin, Nov 4, 2009Iranians call on international community to counter mullahs’ plots to displace Ashraf residents

NCRI – Simultaneous with people’s nationwide uprising on November 4, Iranians living abroad held rallies in 31 major cities across the world on Wednesday to express their solidarity with the uprising and support for Camp Ashraf residents. They called on the international community to condemn ominous and unlawful plans by Iraqi Government to displace Ashraf residents within that country.

NCRI – Simultaneous with people’s nationwide uprising on November 4, Iranians living abroad held rallies in 31 major cities across the world on Wednesday to express their solidarity with the uprising and support for Camp Ashraf residents. They called on the international community to condemn ominous and unlawful plans by Iraqi Government to displace Ashraf residents within that country.  

Some of the cities rallies were held include (in the United States) Washington, Los Angeles, Houston, Dallas, San Francisco and Atlanta; (in Britain) London;  (in Italy) Rome, Urbino;  (in Sweden) Stockholm, Gothenburg; (in Denmark) Copenhagen, Arhus, (in Belgium) Brussels; (in Germany) Berlin, Cologne, Munster, Wiesbaden, Bremen, Hanover, Dusseldorf, Stuttgart; (in France), Paris; (in Canada) Toronto; (in The Netherlands) The Hague; (in Switzerland) Zurich; (in Norway) Oslo; (in Australia) Sydney. In London and Berlin, press conferences were also held by Iranian youths living abroad in support of the youths and students in Iran.

Demonstrators reiterated that nationwide uprising of the Iranian people sounded the death knell for the regime. They emphasized that the mullahs are trying in vain to overcome their incurable crises and problems by cracking down on Ashraf residents. They said Ashraf was the home of PMOI members and the Iranian people’s hope and no one can drive its residents out. By the same token, the Iranian people’s nationwide uprising will continue despite all suppressive measures.

Carrying placards in defense of Ashraf residents, demonstrators in their resolutions stressed that defense of Ashraf and the PMOI members residing there is a national duty of all Iranians and any attack on Ashraf is attack on people of Iran.
