The protest started at around 12:30 local time at the students’ canteen. They refused to eat their meal and as they were leaving the premises with their food trays they were confronted by Bassij agents. Students started chanting “Shame on Bassij agent, leave university now” and “Bassiji get lost” in protest to their presence at the university. Bassij agents have been taken as students in universities to spy on other students and suppress their movement.

Students have continued their protests in evenings in recent days by chanting “Allahu Akbar” in their dormitories. Escalating protests in various universities across the country are taking place in preparation for the November 4 planned demonstration.
