NCRI – Close to 2,000 students staged protest in Tehran’s Open University (southern branch) today against suppressive measures and pressures by the clerical regime. This was their fifth consecutive gathering in five weeks of protest.

Students who had gathered outside the Technical Department chanted “Death to dictator” and denounced heavy disciplinary sentences on 17 student activists from the central branch of the Open University in Tehran and their expulsion from the university. In a bid to intimidate and identify the activists, the suppressive forces filmed the gathering.
