Iran: Ahmadinejad’s cabinet, latest step for total domination by IRGC and Bassij Force

Maryam Rajavi: Message of new cabinet; total elimination of rival faction and internal purge, expansion of suppression, export of terrorism and fundamentalism and completion of nuclear program

NCRI – The clerical regime’s Majlis (Parliament) approved 18 out 21 cabinet ministers proposed by Ahmadinejad on Thursday. Three others were rejected. Those approved are all members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and paramilitary Bassij Force, terrorist agents, and officials responsible for suppressive machinery and the proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Ministers for Defense, Intelligence and Security, Interior, Oil and Islamic Guidance won the highest approval. Revolutionary Guard Brigadier General Ahmad Vahidi, approved as Ahmadinejad’s Defense Minister won more votes than any other minister in the regime’s parliament. He is on the international wanted list for his involvement in terrorist crimes and his arrest warrant was issued by the Argentine judge.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, said that the message of the newly appointed cabinet of Ahmadinejad is elimination of the rival factions and further internal purge leading to deepening rift within the regime on one hand, and escalating suppression and repression, expansion of export of terrorism and fundamentalism particularly to the Middle East and consolidation of the regime’s domination over Iraq and speeding up the nuclear bomb program, on the other.

She added that with the new cabinet, Ali Khamenei, the regime’s Supreme Leader, has completed the process of dominating all quarters of power and key positions by IRGC and Bassij Force. Even those within his faction with slightest difference of opinion with Ahmadinejad have been set aside. To counter the nationwide uprising of the Iranian people, internal crisis and rift within the ranks, the regime is left with no other choice but to purge more within itself.

The rejection of two female ministers by the regime’s parliament echoes the level of misogyny dominating the regime. The two women are among suppressive elements of the regime involved in torture and killings. The mullahs cannot even tolerate this, albeit only an act of show, said Mrs. Rajavi.

Simultaneous with the voting process at the parliament on Ahmadinejad’s cabinet, the suppressive forces were on full alert to counter any protest or demonstration. Despite of this, large number youths gathered outside the regime’s parliament chanting ‘Ministers of dictatorship, resign, resign’ and ‘Death to dictator.’

Argentine’s Prosecutor General yesterday again emphasized the need to arrest Ahmad Vahidi for his commanding role in the bombing of the Jewish center in Buenos Aires.
Vahidi who has been commander of the terrorist Quds Force for many years, plays an important role in mullahs’ regime’s crimes in Iraq.

The Iraqi Al-Babilya TV, September 2, quoting a “high ranking Iraqi security official” from an intelligence body revealed that “Ahmad Vahidi, the new Iran regime’s defense minister had been in Iraq few days prior to the Bloody Wednesday”. This attack left 100 dead and more than 1,000 injured.

As the deputy Defense Minister he has had a key role in proliferation of the regime’s weapons of mass destruction for the past four yeas.

Heidar Moslehi, a mullah and a Revolutionary Guard, has played a key role in the arrest and murder of the detainees in the safe houses during the recent nationwide uprising has been appointed to the post of Minister of Intelligence and Security to place the MOIS under the total domination of the IRGC.

The Revolutionary Guard Mustafa Mohammad Najar, Minister of Interior, is one of the key elements responsible for the suppression inside Iran and one of the commanders of the terrorist operations outside Iran.

He has played an important role in advancing the development of the regimes’ weapons of mass destruction.

Revolutionary Guard Reza Taghipour, Minister of Communications, and Revolutionary Guard Masoud Mirkazemi, Oil Minister have both been key figures in proliferation of weapons of mass destruction.

Bakhtiari, Minister of Justice was head of the Prisons Organization during the massacre of more than 30,000 political prisoners in 1988.  He is one of the key elements responsible for the suppression of the recent uprisings and arrest and subsequent torture of the people in notorious prison of Kahrizak.

Marzieh Vahid Dastjerdi, the only woman who has been approved as one of the Ahmadinejad’s cabinet ministers is a leading member of the female Bassij Force and plays an extensive role in spying on female students and their suppression. Her brother, Vahid Dastjerdi, is the head of the Iranian Air and Space Agency and is responsible for manufacture of missiles for weapons of mass destruction.
