Maryam Rajavi: Revelation of mullahs’ crimes in prisons underlines necessity to refer regime’s file to Security Council and trial of its leaders in international court

NCRI – Commenting on the recent revelation of part of crimes committed by the Iranian regime in prisons, particularly in Kahrizak, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, President-elect of the Iranian Resistance said, “The clerical regime has been committing these kinds of heinous crimes constantly over the past 30years. The Iranian Resistance has been exposing the mullahs’ crimes in prisons and torture chambers including assault on women and men as well as decrees to drain blood of those sentenced to death and raping virgin girls before their executions, for three decades.

Now that a small part of the regime’s crimes are being unveiled by those who have been part of the regime for many years, the international community is left to make a critical choice; to counter barbarism and viciousness in the 21st century, or surrender and give in to blackmail and continue keeping silence and compromise with the medieval regime in Iran for petty economic interests and political considerations.”

Mrs. Rajavi said, “Recent revelations once again showed that suppression and killing prisoners are part of an organized crime in this regime and clear examples of crimes against humanity. Highest authorities in the clerical regime including Ali Khamenei, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad, commanders of the Revolutionary Guards Corps, paramilitary Bassij and State Security Force (SSF) are directly responsible for these crimes.”

She said that the United Nations Security Council has delayed for too long an investigation into the clerical regime’s crimes and barbaric and systematic violations of human rights in Iran. She also called for referral of the regime’s file on shocking crimes and those who planned or perpetrated them to an international tribunal.
