Appeal to UN Secretary General concerning burial of those killed in Camp Ashraf attack

Foure of a group of PMOI members killed by Iraqi ForcesCamp Ashraf attacked – Statement 35

NCRI – The aggressive Iraqi forces inside Camp Ashraf have blocked the road leading to Morvarid cemetery in the camp and anyone who is trying to go there is shot. This is preventing the burial of the martyrs.

The bodies of 7 martyrs who were killed by the Iraqi suppressive forces are still lying on the ground in 57 degree Celsius heat. Considering the power cut and the destruction of most of the utilities and services, keeping the bodies have become impossible and as there is too much dust in the air, it may cause the outbreak of many types of illnesses among residents.

The Ashraf residents are appealing to the United Nations Secretary General to urgently send his representatives to move back the Iraqi forces and observe burial of the martyrs.  Furthermore, there are indications that 4 or 5 members of the PMOI who were severely wounded and then taken away by the aggressive Iraqi forces may have died by now. Their bodies should also be returned to their relatives and friends for burial in Ashraf.
