Gohar Dasht PrisonIranian Resistance raises alarm to save the lives of political prisoners on hunger strike in notorious Gohar Dasht Prison in Karaj

NCRI – According to reports from notorious Gohar Dasht prison in Karaj, the health condition of political prisoners, Mr. Behrooz Javid-Tehrani and Mr. Afshin Baymani who have been on hunger strike, has deteriorated and have been transferred to prison clinic.

It is believed that the Ministry of Intelligence and Security is preparing to eliminate these prisoners in the same manner in which the suspicious death of two other political prisoners, Akbar Mohammadi and Valiyollah Feiz-Mahdavi who were on hunger strike, were organized.

On May 3rd, prison authorities in Gohar Dasht brutally attacked political prisoners including those affiliated to the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI), beating and abusing them. Ali Reza Karami (a prisoner on death row), Afshin Baymani and Behrouz Javid-Tehrani were transferred to solitary confinements after being badly beaten by the special prison guards.

In protest against prison guard brutalities, Messrs. Baymani and Javid-Tehrani have gone on hunger strike calling on all international human rights organizations to pay attention into the state of defenseless political prisoners in Iran.

Those participated in Sunday’s attack against the political prisoners were:

Ali Haj Kazem, governor of notorious Gohar Dasht prison and his deputy, Revolutionary Guard Ali Mohammadi,

Revolutionary Guard Kermani, chief of intelligence and security in prison and his deputy Nabiollah Farajnejad,

Revlutionary Guard Ghuchiyan, new head of torture center in ward number 1.

Revolutionary Guard Akhariyan who is the head of ward number 2 of Gohar Dasht prison was another participant in attacks against prisoners.

On Wednesday, Sohrab Soleimani, head of Tehran’s Prison Organization along with other agents of the regime attacked political prisoners and threatened them with physical elimination.

Iranian Resistance calls on all international human rights organizations against plans to physically eliminate political prisoners in Iran. It also calls for referral of the regime’s human rights dossier to the United Nations Security Council and adoption of binding measures to guarantee safety of defenseless political prisoners in Iran.
