Iranian regime is behind massive propaganda war against Iranian Resistance – Belgian Senator

Senator Patrik Vankrunkelsven of BelgiumNCRI – Senator Patrik Vankrunkelsven of Belgium joined dozens of other parliamentarians to express his solidarity with Iranian people and their resistance in a rally in Brussels on November 7. He stressed that “prospects for a change in Iran are very much better than a few months ago. We in Belgium are in solidarity with all Iranian people to achieve democracy and freedom for your people.” Full text of his speech is as follows:
I have come here to join your call for the restoration of peace and freedom in your country.
We have all been shocked by recent comments made by the new President of Iran; for instance on Israel; for instance on nuclear arms and programs. I think after several years of playing with the West, the Iranian regime, has decided to show its true nature. After the election of Ahmadinejad, we have seen a sharp rise in the number of executions and public hangings. Also the mullahs seem to be going nuclear, ignoring all previous agreements they had made with the EU.
I was very happy to sign the declaration on Iran which called on the Security Council to deal with Iran’s nuclear weapons program and calling on the EU to remove the name of the People’s Mojahedin from its list of terrorist organisations. So far 260 Members of parliaments in different European countries have signed this statement. Many Belgian members of parliament and senate have signed this declaration in support of the call for the removal of the Iranian Mojahedin from this list.
The inclusion of the main opposition in this list is really blocking the activities of all opposition in Iran. Its removal will encourage the Iranian people to work for a democratic change in Iran.
It was the People’s Mojahedin that unveiled two secret nuclear sites in August 2002. The world should be thankful to them for such a contribution to peace in the region and the world.
Last year I met Mrs. Maryam Rajavi and I believe you have a courageous and clever leader who is leading this movement to bring democracy to Iran.
I am sure you know that the Iranian regime organizes a massive propaganda war against the Iranian Resistance, especially against the People’s Mojahedin. Today’s great demonstration shows that the Iranian people are behind this movement.
I believe that the prospects for a change in Iran are very much better than a few months ago. We in Belgium are in solidarity with all Iranian people to achieve democracy and freedom for your people.
