Iranians in Finland protest outside French embassy

Protest by supporters of PMOI in FinlandNCRI – Iranian exiles rallied outside the French embassy in Helsinki on Monday calling on the Council of the European Union and France to implement the ruling of the European Court of First Instance ordering the removal of the main Iranian opposition, the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) from the EU terrorist list.

The participants expressed their support for members of the PMOI residing in Ashraf City in Iraq and demanded their rights under international law be respected.

The Finnish daily Hufvudstadsbladet (HBL) reported: “The protestors said that France is defying the ruling of the highest court in the EU and is thus paving the way for a human catastrophe for the Iranian opposition and Europe”.

Similar protests were held in various European capitals. In Paris hundreds of supporters of the PMOI demonstrated outside the French Foreign Ministry on Tuesday demanding an end to the blacklisting of the PMOI.
