France welcomes the new UN resolution on Iran but urges new sanctions

eu_president_franceNCRI – France welcomed a new UN Security Council resolution on Iran on Sunday but called for new sanctions.

Saturday's resolution "shows the concern and the unity of the international community faced with Iran's nuclear program," the French foreign ministry said in a statement that urged Iran to comply with the UN text.

But Paris also "reaffirms its determination to work with its partners on new sanctions to increase the pressure on Iran if it continues to ignore its international obligations."

In a statement published on Sunday, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, welcomed the new UN Security Council resolution 1835 which called for a complete halt to all the mullahs' regime nuclear projects and compliance with the previous resolutions.

She reminded the immediate dangers of the mullahs' regime for the world peace and tranquility and reiterated that the final solution for defusing the threat of a fundamentalist and terrorist regime which is racing to obtain a nuclear bomb will be a democratic change by the Iranian people and their Resistance.

Mrs. Rajavi emphasized that the appeasement policy and especially the terrorist label on the Iranian opposition in the past years have been the major obstacle in the way of a democratic change in Iran.
She called for an end to the appeasement policy and removal of the unjust and illegal terrorist label off the People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran.
