Iran: A prisoner hanged in Semnan

iran_hanging_noose150NCRI – The mullahs' inhuman regime hanged a prisoner without naming him in the northeastern city of Semnan, the state-run daily Qods reported on Tuesday.

It also sentenced another prisoner to death identified as Mohammad-Hossein in the holy city of Mashhad, Qods wrote.

In past three days the ruling clerical regime hanged five prisoners in the northern city of Noshahr, northeastern city of Semnan and southeastern city of Zahedan.

The Iranian regime has been repeatedly condemned by the international community over its human rights dossier. It is by far the world leading violator of basic rights.

U.N. Human Rights spokesman, Rupert Colville, referring to the recent executions of two juveniles says these executions appear to be in clear violation of international law, which prohibits the death penalty for juvenile offenders.

"Iran's legal obligation not to impose the death penalty for juveniles was assumed voluntarily when it ratified the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights and the Convention on the Rights of the Child, both of which prohibit the death penalty for crimes committed by people below the age of 18," he said.
