Iran: Concert banned and participants arrested in Tabriz

police_arrest_iran150NCRI – The State Security Forces (SSF) – mullahs' suppressive police—arrested a number of male and female party goers in a parking lot where the event was supposed to take place in the northeastern city of Tabriz, the semi-official news agency Fars reported on Wednesday.

"Our units were just in time to stop a crime from happing," said Rahman Imaninejad, a spokesman with the SSF's Moral Enforcement Division in Eastern Azerbaijan province.

"A group was supposed to hold a party in a parking lot. The organizers had already sold tickets to the event to some male and female youths for the concert," Imaninejad added.

He warned families to look into what music their children listen to and where it has come from. Music must be approved by the Ministry of Culture and Islamic Guidance.

"In addition, each concert must be licensed first by the proper police authorities long before it is scheduled to take place," Imaninejad said.

The police will never allow suspicious and unlicensed concert-sponsors to have their way. We will stop groups with ill intentions toward Islamic values to hold musical events, the SSF official said.
