Iran clerical regime stage rally in Natanz in bid to prevent UN Security Council referral

Natanz nuclear siteNCRI – On the eve of the International Atomic Energy Agency’s upcoming meeting of Board of Governors, the clerical regime in Iran is planning to stage a series of propaganda acts in various Iranian cities in an effort to claim widespread popular support for its nuclear program. The mullahs seek to blackmail and intimidate the international community in a bid to avoid referral of their file to the UN Security Council.
The decision for the propaganda drive was taken in the clerical regime’s Supreme National Security Council. The council decreed: “Since national security is at stake, an unlimited budget is allocated” to the campaign.
As part of this campaign, the Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) and the paramilitary Basij force will stage a rally near Natanz nuclear facility on November 18. They will lay down a “human shield” around the facility and demand the restart of enrichment activities at Natanz. They will also voice support for recent positions of Khamenei and Ahmadinejad, the regime’s president, who stated that they will preserve the nuclear fuel cycle. More demonstrations and rallies are planned for the coming days.
All branches of the Basij in the universities, schools and religious seminaries are actively signing up students to go to Natanz on Thursday. The expenses for the demonstration, including all travel, accommodations, and bonuses for participating in the event will be paid by the IRGC and Basij. Brig. Gen. Hejazi, commander of the IRGC affiliated Basij, has ordered his deputy, Brig. Gen. Mir Ahmadi, to pay for all the expenses.
The anti-human clerical regime in Iran has ironically named the rallies “Ring of Supremacy” in the midst of national anger and resentment to its policies, to assert that its nuclear program enjoys “popular support.” The majority of the Iranian people, however, seek to change this medieval regime, and are opposed to its nuclear program.
