Religious fascism ruling Iran announced that 30 prisoners will be hanged on Sunday

NCRI – The prosecutor general of Tehran on Friday announced, "Thirty convicts and thugs in the capital will be executed Sunday morning July 27, 2008."

The state-run news agency Mehr quoted the prosecutor general as saying, "The entire legal procedure has been exhausted on their cases at highest levels and they will be hanged."

President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi commented on executions in Iran and said that the clerical regime was trying in vane to contain people’s anger and uprising by repression and murder and prevent inevitable change in Iran. However, such barbaric suppression will not stop the Iranian people and their Resistance from brining change in Iran.

She said that in the past years, the mullahs' regime has executed political prisoners as common criminals. Slaughter of 30 prisoners on the anniversary of massacre of 30,000 political prisoners in 1988 indicates that the regime can not survive a single day without employing such measures.

Mrs. Rajavi called on the international community and in particular the UN Secretary General, the High Commissioner for Human Rights and all other international human rights organizations to prevent the Sunday's hangings. She called for the referral of the mullahs’ human rights dossier to the Security Council for adoption of binding measures against the regime.

Mrs. Rajavi added that issuing press statements against the clerical regime and at the same time maintaining diplomatic, political, security and commercial relations would only embolden it in committing more crimes.
