Iran: Seven hundred bakery workers went on strike over low pays in Sanandaj

Iran: Seven hundred bakery workers went on strike over low pays in Sanandaj NCRI – Seven hundred bakery workers walked out on Saturday over low pay in the northwestern city of Sanandaj.

The workers have threatened to stop baking unless the government meets their pay rise demands. Over 450 workers signed a petition calling for action by the government by next Wednesday.

The striking workers announced that they would resume their walkout on Wednesday between 6 and 10 a.m. unless their demands are not met. They would go on strike from next Thursday for an indefinite period if the government would not give in.

Thousands of workers in the past months have gone on strike over pay cuts across the country. However, the mullahs' regime has not met their demands. Just to name a few, there are Sugar Cane Factory workers in the southern city of Shoosh, Kiyan Tire and Iran Khodro workers in suburbs of Tehran, Sadra Ship Yard workers in the southern city of Bushehr are currently on strike for their wages.
