Iranian Resistance’s evaluation of the IAEA’s report on Iran

Iranian regime’s responses to IAEA’s questions on contaminated equipments and Polonium 210 are absolutely untrue and fabrications

The documents that the clerical regime has provided to the IAEA are nothing but fabrications, conjuring up stories, and justification of what has already been unveiled. These documents and claims bear no credibility and prove nothing

NCRI – The Committee of Defense and Strategic Studies (CDSS) of the National Council of Resistance of Iran issued its assessment on the IAEA’s recent report on the clerical regime’s nuclear programs in 20 paragraphs today. The document stresses, "The IAEA’s report, February 22, 2008, on Iranian regime’s nuclear projects contains very important points on the regime’s efforts to acquire nuclear bomb. In light of the points raised in the report, adoption of comprehensive sanctions against the regime is a necessity more than before." But it states, "Report contains certain unacceptable mistakes which require serious modifications." The CDSS considers the regime’s widespread efforts to conceal its nuclear projects and misleading the IAEA with a background of special considerations of the IAEA’s Director General, as the main reasons for the mistakes.

The NCRI Committee stipulates, "The documents and reasoning that the clerical regime has provided to the IAEA in various areas, are primarily nothing but fabrications, conjuring up stories, and finding excuses for what has already been unveiled. These documents and claims bear no credibility and prove nothing. From the IAEA report it is vividly clear that there exists no independent document to corroborate the regime’s claims."

The Committee believes that for "the equipments contaminated with highly enriched uranium which has been found in one of the technical universities," and the activities of former head of the "Physics Research Center" the regime has misled and seriously deceived the IAEA.

The site that the regime depicts as the "Physics Research Center" is the Lavizan-Shian site, the center for nuclear weapons research of the clerical regime that was exposed by the Iranian Resistance in 2003. What the regime described as "Physics Research Center," and "Applied Physics Institution," to the IAEA had never existed and they are all fictitious and fabricated names to deceive the IAEA.

The equipments that were found in the technical university and also the centrifuge in the research center of Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) in Vanak had been transferred to these locations from Lavizan-Shian.

The CDSS states that "it is not clear why responding to the IAEA’s question, none of which are new and all of the elements are at the disposal of the regime, had taken so many years and the regime had not responded to them earlier?"

The report also is critical of the IAEA’s for not revealing the identities of individuals, in particular former head of "Physics Research Center." It also reiterates that had these identities been revealed the information offered by the Iranian Resistance against the mullahs’ would have been checked out.

The CDSS on the issue of polonium 210, the IAEA respond to the clerical regime stating that "there were some research work going on by the AEOI in 1988 to obtain Polonium to be utilized in Isotope batteries but this project was stopped later and was set aside," is totally false. The Committee indicates that the research on developing the trigger for atomic bomb with Polonium 210 and Beryllium under the supervision of Mojdeh site has been a continuous process. On February 20, the Iranian Resistance disclosed the Command and Control Center for Production of Atomic Bomb.

The CDSS referring to articles 41 and 52 of the IAEA report expresses disappointment and said, "If the IAEA is not willing to see the names and details of these organs and relevant individuals be made public and be available in public domain, it is very appropriate that the Director General of the IAEA shared them with the National Council of Resistance so that the details of these activities, the role of these organs and individuals in nuclear project and other aspects of Weapons of Mass Destruction of the clerical regime be ascertained and established as quickly as possible."

The lie and deception that the regime has fed to the IAEA in the last four years is that "the only organization that had been, and was, involved" was the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran (AEOI) (February 2008 IAEA report- paragraph 38). But the fact, as the Iranian Resistance has presenting by offering irrefutable documents, is that the IRGC and the Defense Ministry have been in the business of producing nuclear weapons and the clerical regime has used the AEOI as a cover for its illegal activities.

The CDSS urges the IAEA to prepare a comprehensive report on the clerical regime’s nuclear program without any political or diplomatic considerations. It added that the report should contain the following: Inspection of all the regime’s nuclear centers, including the centers that have been revealed by the Iranian Resistance, interviewing all experts and individuals involved in the regime’s nuclear projects and all relevant authorities and decision-makers and not relying solely on the claims and documents provided by the Iranian regime.
