Iran-Executions: Nine execution verdicts in nine days

Public hanging in Iran80 hangings and death verdicts in four months

NCRI, October 24 – The mullahs’ anti-human regime continues the barbaric wave of executions in Iran. State-run media reported that nine death sentences were handed down in the past nine days, including three yesterday.

These bring to 80 the number of hangings and death sentences in the fourth months since Mahmoud Ahmadinejad’s election, representing a 100 percent increase compared to the first six months of the year.

Two women, Soghra and Raheleh, were among those sentenced to death, one by stoning. Etemaad daily reported on October 23 that three men were sentenced to death.

The Iranian Resistance once again calls on international human rights organizations to condemn the continuing wave of inhumane executions in Iran and demands the adoption of a strongly-worded resolution at the current session of the United Nations General Assembly to censure the systematic and flagrant violations of human rights in Iran.
