Iran: A new commander of the IRGC moved to Ministry of Interior

NCRI – Rear Admiral Abbas Mohtaj, former commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Navy is the latest high ranking officer to join the mullahs’ Interior Ministry.
 
He will serve as deputy Interior Minister in security affairs. Mohtaj filled in for the outgoing Brig. Gen. Mohammad Baqer Zolqadr former deputy commander of the IRGC who just resigned from the post last month. 
  In an order Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi, Minister of Interior, wrote, "Having in mind your qualifications and in-depth knowledge of security matters, you will be appointed as deputy Interior Minister in security affairs."

Pour-Mohammadi underscored the need for Mohtaj’s diligence in keeping the country secure especially with the turbulent times of the upcoming elections.
