Paris, Agence France Presse, December 12 (translation) – The President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, called on the international community to adopt a "firm policy" against the "Iranian regime" in a seminar at the French Senate on Wednesday organized by the Committee for a Democratic Iran.

Mrs. Rajavi said, "The mullahs will never stop suppression in Iran, gulping Iraq or producing nuclear bomb because if they do then the regime will disappear completely. Therefore, the international community should adopt a firm policy against the regime."

However, she repeated her opposition to a war against Iran and defended a "third option." She reiterated, "It is only the third option, a democratic change by people and their organized resistance that can rid the world from the danger of a religious fascism."

In the presence of Mrs. Daniel Mitterrand, former French First Lady, the President-elect of the NCRI called once again for removal of "restrictions" against her movement including freeze on its accounts.

The NCRI is the political wing of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran which is on the terrorist lists of the EU and the United States.

Mrs. Rajavi said, "The unjust [terrorist] designation is a kind of human rights violation inflicting huge damages."

The French Committee for a Democratic Iran was formed last February in the Senate by former Socialist minister Alain Vivien, Senator Jean-Pierre Michel and former Socialist MP Francois Colcombet, to promote a policy to help the Iranian Resistance.
