Iran: Thirty-three prisoners hanged in a week

NCRI – Mullahs’ regime hanged seven prisoners in public identified as Ali Orang, Dawood Talebi, Majid Barzkar, Majid Monami, Mohammad Bameri, Omar Bameri, and Mehdi Pour-Shekhi in southern town of Mahan, the state-run news agency Fars reported today.

The mullahs’ judiciary charged the victims with "armed robbery, drug trafficking and hooliganism," the state media reported. The head of the State Security Forces (SSF) in Mahan was killed in pursuit of so-called "hooligans," the same sources added.

On September 12, a man was hanged in southern port of Bandar Abbas, the state-run news agency ISNA reported.

The regime hanged in public a prisoner identified as Mohammad Hosseinzadeh in the holy city of Qom, the state-run news agency Fars reported yesterday. It was also reported by the same source that on September 6, two other prisoners identified as Ali D. and Karim T. were hanged in the southern port city of Bandar Abbas.

On September 11, the regime hanged a young man identified as Javad Z. in the northeastern city of Mashhad, the state-run daily Khorason reported. On September 5, seventeen prisoners were hanged in the same city and four others in the southern city of Shiraz.

Separately, the mullahs’ henchmen amputated the hands of four prisoners in Mashhad, the state-run news agency ISNA reported today.

President-elect of the Iranian Resistance, Mrs. Maryam Rajavi described the gruesome punishments by the regime a desperate attempt to combat the increasing popular rage against it. She condemned the international community and in particular the EU over their silence in the face of such crimes.

Mrs. Rajavi called on the current session of the UN Human Rights Council in Geneva as well as the UN Secretary General and the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights to take urgent measures to stop the growing wave of executions in Iran.
