International call to prevent a human disaster in Iran

International call to prevent a human disaster in IranNCRI – In a news conference in Norway, the representative of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) in Nordic countries and a number of Jurists in that country denounced the wave of executions in Iran and demanded an end to the shameful policy of appeasement of mullahs’ barbaric dictatorship.

In addition to Parviz Khazai, the representative of NCRI in Nordic countries, Mrs. Tove Rasch, member of International Lawyers Association in Norway and Mrs. Hanne Mor Christiansen, a human rights activist and a member of the Norwegian Church spoke at this news conference.

At the beginning of the conference, Khazai announced that the Iranian Resistance’s President-elect Mrs. Maryam Rajavi has called on the United Nations and all governments to take measures to end widespread executions in Iran. She noted the increase in the number of executions and stated that many are on death row. In only one prison to the west of Tehran over 600 people are waiting for their sentences to be carried out.

According to Khazai, at least 31 people had been hanged in public over the past month in Iran. He affirmed that if the international community, especially at the UN level, did not intervene to stop executions, the number of public executions and punishments will increase dramatically.

Mrs. Rasch expressed her abhorrence over inhuman punishments by the mullahs’ regime and stated that the indecisiveness of western governments is unacceptable.

Mrs. Christiansen reiterated her regret for these mind-boggling crimes in the name of religion and told reporters that it was their duty to cover these inhumane crimes and keep the world aware of them.

In this news conference, a political prisoner who spent 8 years in various prisons in Iran also spoke about tortures he had suffered.
