A United Front of 279 Iranian Organizations Stand Against Regime’s Propaganda and Infiltration Efforts

Statement by Iranian communities

12 March 2024

Includes 279 Iranian associations, societies, and associations in different countries of the world

PMOI supporters and supporters of the National Council of Resistance of Iran

March 8, 2002

We, the Iranian associations, communities, and organizations in different countries announce:

  1. The film “Children of Camp Ashraf” and the statement “Support for freedom of expression and the screening of the documentary ‘Children of Camp Ashraf'” at the annual Gothenburg Film Festival are interconnected elements of the Ministry of Intelligence and Revolutionary Guard Corps’ plots to confront the organized resistance of the Iranian people, specifically the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), which is considered the main threat to the existence of the mullahs’ regime.
  2. The film is a foreign version of “Colonel Soraya,” carrying the same message and goals for the European audience. Films like “Colonel Soraya” and “Nimroz” have been ordered by Khamenei to prevent the recruitment of young people to the MEK and resistance units, while paving the way for suppression, execution, and terrorism based on the experiences of the past four decades.
  3. The simultaneous trial of the leaders of the resistance in absentia, along with more than 100 members of the MEK and the NCRI by the Executioners’ Judiciary, coinciding with the presentation of such films to the political market, is not accidental. The struggle against mercenaries and infiltrators intensifies right after Khamenei’s crushing defeat in the election drama. Allegations of supporting child soldiers in the MEK are being used as an excuse for free speech suppression and a settlement against the sign of resistance. In particular, the regime aims to avenge the death penalty of Hamid Nouri in Sweden. They have burned and squandered the Ministry of Intelligence’s scenario in this regard.
  4. Over the past four decades, liberal and patriotic artists and intellectuals have faced severe suppression, often being exiled, imprisoned, or murdered. In contrast, the regime’s turbaned fascists have consistently employed self-deprecating elements as experts, researchers, artists, intellectuals, journalists, and filmmakers to spread their propaganda against the People’s Resistance and MEK, both inside and outside Iran. It is well-known that the revenue from such propaganda efforts fills the mullahs’ pockets, countering the “human rights sheet” against the PMOI.
  5. It is astonishing that despite repeated calls by the Resistance to sue in competent courts in Europe and the United States, the claimants of “suspicious deaths within the Mujahedin,” “pulling out the wombs of women,” “forced divorce,” and “separating children from their parents and family” during the war in Iraq, as well as the claimants accusing the MEK of sending “child soldiers” and now “depriving them of their freedom of expression” in Europe, have not taken legal action in even one case.
  6. This is one of the proud pages of the history of the MEK. In 1990, amid the most horrific bombardments, the MEK, with heavy risks and high stakes for the travel officials of each group, saved children from the hellish bombings without causing harm to any of them. The war’s impact on Finland, Norway, France, England, and many other countries resulted in significant casualties and damage. Hundreds of members of the organizations’ signatories to this Declaration were closely involved in the transfer or custody of children at that time and are ready to testify to any authority.
  7. It is shameful that someone who has gone to Europe and America at the expense of the Mojahedin and the blood of the Mojahedin, and despite the plight of homeless children and child laborers in Iran, now enjoys the best amenities, yet abandons the Resistance. No honest person would take this path and betray the PMOI to the mullahs’ intelligence.
  8. Additionally, the regime uses the outdated accusation of employing child soldiers to deflect from its own crimes against children, including sending 440,000 students into minefields, systematically executing children and adolescents, killing juveniles in the uprisings of 2019 and 2022, and even arming children under 15 to suppress uprisings. Three years ago, a Basij journalist was tasked with similar accusations, to which 524 young men and fighters responded.
  9. The enemy and its mercenaries are trying in vain to block the advances of the resistance in both domestic and international arenas with these initiatives. The anger of the people and the blazing flames of the youth uprisings and resistance units are inextinguishable.

Two scenes from the propaganda film “Colonel Soraya” are frequently broadcast on regime TV on the streets of Tehran.
