Ahmadinejad’s remarks reveal regime’s intentions of building an atomic bomb

Ahmadinejad’s comments are hollow show of force to make the international community succumb to its nuclear program

NCRI – Today’s remarks by Ahmadinejad regarding the regime’s entering an “industrial stage of nuclear fuel production,” on one hand indicates the decision by the clerical regime to defy the will of international community and to violate the UN Security Council resolutions and on the other hand it is a hollow show of force in hope of forcing the international community into succumbing to the clerical regime’s nuclear program.

Investing on the western countries’ appeasement policy vis-à-vis the mullahs’ regime, Ahmadinejad clearly threatened the international community and said, “They [western countries] should not do something to make our brave and great nation to reconsider its relations with them.”

In a speech in the north eastern city of Mashhad, the regime’s Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council, Bridger General Ali Larijani, admitted to the clerical regime’s weakness and vulnerability and said, “If we stand firm they will give in, but if we cave in, they will not give up and if they sense any hesitation on our side, they will come after us. If we demonstrate our resolve they [the western countries] will have to come to terms with us. “

In reality, the regime is fearful of growing popular uprisings and finds the only way out is to obtain nuclear weapons, exporting fundamentalism and terrorism in particular to Iraq. Therefore, compromise and negotiation or offering incentive packages will not motivate it to change its policy. For quarter of a century, appeasement policy has been the main obstacle in the way of change in Iran and a driving force for it in its path to obtain nuclear weapons as well as taking hostages and expanding its influence in the region.

Preventing the Iranian regime from obtaining nuclear weapons is only possible by adopting a firm policy through putting aside the appeasement of the regime in its totality. Such a new policy on one hand should include imposition of comprehensive weapons, diplomatic, technological, and oil sanctions on the clerical regime and on the other hand removing all obstacles in the way of change in Iran; in particular removing the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI) from the list of terrorist organizations; a label which means nothing but participating in suppression of Iranian people and their legitimate resistance.  The European Communities Court of First Instance ruled to annul the designation of the PMOI on December 12, 2006.
